Order and control

Roles, permissions and audit

Permission to see the numbers is never inherited from access to a project. A section closed by a role does not appear in the menu: an item leading to an access denial is worse than no item.

Available in:Free tier “Start”

What it covers

  • Organisation roles: employee, project manager, department head, project economist, administrator, external participant
  • Five project roles, and project permissions override organisation ones
  • Project economics and cost rates are two separate permission areas
  • External participants are not sent economic fields by the API rather than having them hidden in the interface
  • An audit log on rates, budgets, approval and edits of time entries, and permissions
  • The audit log has no write or delete methods

Frequently asked questions

What does an external participant see?

Only tasks marked public. Effort, rates and economics are not returned to them by the API, not merely hidden in the interface.

What goes into the audit log?

Creation, change, deletion, approval, rejection, restore, rights changes and data export. Log entries cannot be edited or deleted.
