Hours and money
Project economics
The reason to buy the product rather than a free tracker. Economics works from day one on manual rates and gets sharper as the other products are connected.
Available in:“Project business” plan

What it covers
- Five payment models: fixed price, time and materials, retainer, milestone, internal
- Three rates: cost, billing and planned, each valid for its own period
- Rate precedence: organisation, role, person, project, person on a project
- Planned and actual margin at once, with the variance between them
- A forecast at completion from estimates on open tasks, with the estimated share shown
- Multi-currency: each project has its own currency, and a portfolio rolls up at the rate on the report date
- Budget overrun policy: warn, require approval or block logging
- Alerts on negative margin and on an effective rate below the target
Frequently asked questions
What if an employee has no rate?
Their hours are flagged wherever margin is shown. Without a cost rate a project looks more profitable than it is, and the product says so.
Can employees see each other’s salaries?
No. Project economics and cost rates are closed by separate rights. A project manager can see margin without seeing what an hour of a specific employee costs.
