Work and deadlines

Projects, stages and milestones

A project collects work, dates, people and money. Permissions inside a project come from the project role rather than a job title: you can run a project without seeing its cost.

Available in:Free tier “Start”

What it covers

  • Hierarchy: portfolio, project, stage, task, subtask
  • Milestones as checkpoints with no duration, optionally marked billable
  • An open project is visible to the organisation, a closed one only to its members
  • An external participant sees public tasks and never sees hours, rates or economics
  • A guest link lets the customer follow progress without an account
  • Copy a project with all dates shifted, move tasks between projects with their history

Frequently asked questions

How does a project role differ from an organization role?

The project role overrides the organization one. You can manage a project without access to its cost: economics rights are granted separately.

What does the client see through the guest link?

Progress: percent complete, milestones, recent changes and tasks marked public. The link works until a set date, and project money never goes through it.
